Dunbar @ Vancouver

Dunbar is Vancouver's quickest growing luxury market, where on almost every block there is a new multi-million dollar home being built. With tree-lined streets, prefectly kept gardens, quiet roads and the best primary and secondary schools, the Dunbar neighborhood is the hottest community for the city's younger nouveau-riche. Most of the area is flat, so do not expect any great views, however for the few blocks which do offer views, they are spectacular and come with spectacular pricing. The majority of lots are the standard 50 x 120 foot and 33 x 120 foot with newer homes running from $2.5 million to $6 million. There is a cap on home sizes in Dunbar, so don't expect to see any Shaughnessy sized mansions, rather expect to see high-quality in a smaller package. Like in most neighborhoods in Vancouver, the predominant style of architecture is the classical Craftsman and Anglo-inspireded design, with the exception of a handful of modern homes. Expect to pay no less than $2 million for a fixer-uper or land value. Dunbar is not the most exclusive neighborhood in town, but it certainly is the most popular for the upper classes!
